Growing Together: Garden Workshop Series
Join us for a series of 6 garden workshops focused on growing and learning together! These community oriented workshops will cover a variety of topics, all with sustainable, regenerative and organic practices. See workshop description below. Come learn in community!

March 5- Garden Planning and Seed Starting
Thinking through your garden plans this year? Join the Hooper Institute to brainstorm your garden set-up, including what to plant, where it’ll grow best and what seeds to start now! Leave with a plan for your garden, some seeds to get you started, dates for when to plant, and information on what grows best together.
April 2- Pest and Disease Management
This interactive, joint problem solving session will feature discussions on common pests and diseases and how to manage them! Practices will include companion planting and natural remedies to get rid of even the worst of your pests. Bring your favorite tricks and tips to share with others!
May 7- Soil Health
Let’s dig in the soil! Join us to dive into the foundation of all gardening, soil! Learn about the soil layers, soil testing, and our favorite soil amendments that help with everything from pH to texture and more. Be ready to get your hands dirty!
July 9- Canning and Preserving
Harvest time is here! Learn some alternate ways to use harvested veggies from quick pickling to water bath canning to enjoy your fresh produce all year round.
Sept 17- Seed Saving for Pollinators and People (with the Harris Center)
Hate buying new seeds every year? Have a plant that did really well this year? Learn how to save your own seeds! Join the Hooper Institute and the Harris Center for a program all about seeds, from pollinators, native plants, vegetables, and more. Get hands on practice learning about the different techniques and leave with a few of our favorite seeds to try next season.
Oct 29- Garlic Planting and Winter Prep
Wind down the garden for winter while prepping for next year! Learn how to put your garden to bed, tips for season extension, and the essentials of garlic planting.
