Morning Camp at Hooper Hall
The Hooper Institute offers programs over the summer and school breaks to Walpole youth entering grades 1-8 with a variety of camps. Check out our camp offerings below!
Morning Camp:
Primary school age children (entering 1-4th grade) can participate in a four day
morning camp based at Hooper Hall.
Camps are split by grade level with one week featuring students in grades 1-2 and one featuring those in grades 3-4. Each day has a different focus fitting in with our 5 main themes of botany, forestry, soils, agriculture and environmental science.
All camps run from 9am - 12pm and take place at Hooper Hall.

Middle School Camps:
Middle school age students (entering 5-8th grade) have the option to participate in camps that take them offsite from Hooper Hall. We offer both a Wood Camp and Adventure Camp for middle schoolers. See more below.
Wood Camp:
Learn wood working basics at Wood Camp! In partnership with Bensonwood and the Heartwood School this camp spends four days learning wood working skills and completing a variety of wood working projects. Some projects have included: bird houses, garden poles, tool boxes, step stools, Viking chairs, and more!
Middle school age students (entering 5-8th grade) have the option to participate in camps that take them offsite from Hooper Hall. We offer both a Wood Camp and Adventure Camp for middle schoolers. See more below.
Wood Camp:
Learn wood working basics at Wood Camp! In partnership with Bensonwood and the Heartwood School this camp spends four days learning wood working skills and completing a variety of wood working projects. Some projects have included: bird houses, garden poles, tool boxes, step stools, Viking chairs, and more!
Campfire and Smores at the Hooper Shelter during Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp:
Explore spectacular locales and farms in Walpole during Adventure Camp! Spend each day at a unique spot, exploring streams, hiking, roasting smores around a campfire and playing in the woods. Each year takes us to new spots with at least one day spend exploring and enjoying our very own Hooper Forest and Hooper Shelter. Some of our favorites from years past include: Distant Hill Gardens, Mad River Ravine, Halls Crossing, and the Cheshire Rail Trail.
Explore spectacular locales and farms in Walpole during Adventure Camp! Spend each day at a unique spot, exploring streams, hiking, roasting smores around a campfire and playing in the woods. February Vacation Camp:
New this year is our February Vacation Camp! Come join us as we explore all that winter has to offer during this school break. Take part in snowshoeing, tracking, snowman building and of course some hot cocoa during this 4 day camp. More information coming soon!
